Use Data and Insights to Make Better Ministry Decisions

Data Fueled Church is an on-demand course that combines best practices and real-church examples, giving you a better understanding of how churches can use data, insights, and analytics to make better ministry decisions. This course is not overly technical. Instead, it focuses on practical applications for ministry, leadership, and reaching people.

Better Data = Better Decisions = More Ministry

Better Data

Better data doesn't drive decisions as much as it paints a clearer picture of your church, your community, and your ministry. When you understand the information, you can use data as a tool to accomplish the mission and vision of your church

Better Decisions

Phrases like “people are saying” and “a lot of folks” and “too much” aren’t measurable. When you learn how to quantify inputs and outputs, you’ll have better answers and better confidence in your ministry decisions.

More Impact

Ultimately, ministry is about Jesus and people – and helping those people follow Jesus. Data, analytics, and insights can help you do this. Your church will be more effective and what you’re already doing and moving confidently in the right direction.

Course Outline

Video One:  The Information Mindset

It might not be “big data” and you might not use the term “analytics” but you’re already using information in leadership, just like leaders in the Bible and throughout history.  In this video, we’ll give you a broader perspective on how to add “data informed” to “Spirit-led”.

Video Two: Sources of Information

What kinds of data are available to you?  Where should you get it?  And how you should you process it?  Those are the questions we’ll answer in this video, showing you how free, low-cost, and paid sources of information can help you make ministry leadership decisions.

Video Three: A Seat at the Table

We don’t want you to be data-driven, just data-informed, giving good information and analytics a seat at the leadership table.  In this video, we’ll show you practical places where information intersects with ministry – from sermon planning, to communication, to ministry programming.

Video Four: Leveraging Data Across Your Ministry

You can use data, insights and analytics to help you engage those who have not yet visited your church, people needing to take next steps, and to even launch city-wide movements.  We will walk you through the engagement framework (attract, get, keep, grow, and multiply) and show you how information is valuable at each step.

Video Five: What’s Next?

Once you know what types of data are available to you and understand some ways to use it in your ministry setting, we’ll lay out several insanely practical next steps so you and your church can hit the ground running without doing all the legwork of creating your own plan.

Each module also has an insanely practical worksheet to help you take action and implement what you’ve learned.

When you finish the course, you will a theological foundation for understanding and utilizing data in your church as well as a game plan for incorporating data and insights into your ministry.  The lessons you learn and the work you do will have long-term ramification with helping all groups of people take next steps in your church.

Three Ways to Use the Data Fueled Church Course

Personal Development

All videos and resources are accessible immediately following your registration, so you can work at your own pace.  Many find that watching one video a week, then working on any relevant assignments, is a good rhythm.  However, you could also move faster if that fits your schedule.

Staff Meeting

Take time in existing staff meetings to watch the videos and discuss the exercises.  Devoting a part of your meeting to this type of training is a great way to “do” leadership development without adding any additional meetings or workflows.

Team Learning Opportunity

Create extra meeting times or “focus weeks” to work through the material at a more rapid pace.  This type of project learning might be a good fit for you or your team.

Since I've been implementing some of the things that I've learned from Church Fuel, we have grown. When I took over, we were at 54 members. We have grown now to where our attendance every Sunday is around 130. Because of our growth, we've had to go to two services, and I attribute a lot of that to Church Fuel.

Fullness Church

Thank you for creating such excellent and practical material and making it available at affordable prices.

– Annette Perry

With so much to do, Church Fuel is helping me focus and providing incredible tools for our team to use. Spending my own personal money on this each month is well worth it.

– Ronnie Whitfield, One Life Community Church

I am loving the course! Our leadership team has gone through module one, and we're already implementing quite a few changes. This will be very good for us, and we will be working at it for the next several months.

– Keith Wishum

Church Fuel is an integral part to my personal leadership development, giving me specific items to work through in our staff and church. Our staff team became aligned to the same goals and we worked intentionally through them strengthening our team, culture, and systems. Not only would I say we have a healthier church culture, but I've greater confidence in what I'm doing and know specifically what to work on.

– Lawrence Huey, Epicentre Church

I am an old fashioned fundamentalist and view the new stuff with the typical suspectful eye. But, I admit… I am seeing value and getting help with some of these tools. Mom always said, “don't throw the baby out with the wash.”
